Plan ahead<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image  size-large\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Plan-Ahead.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Plan-Ahead.gif\" alt=\"Plan Before the Demo\"\/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Before you get started, contact PETA&#8217;s Action Team by e-mailing <a href=\"mailto:ATeam@peta.org\">ActionTeam@peta.org<\/a>. We&#8217;ll help walk you through the steps and send you free posters and leaflets. Some cities require that you obtain a permit, so call your local police department and ask if you need a permit to organize a peaceful demonstration. You&#8217;ll definitely want to invite others to join you, so create a Facebook event, too!<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-16018d1d wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-large-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-petablue-background-color has-background wp-element-button\" href=\"mailto:ATeam@peta.org\" >contact PETA&#8217;s Action Team<\/a><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00a02. Before the demo<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image  size-large\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Before.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Before.gif\" alt=\"Before the Demo\"\/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Make sure that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the demonstration. Wear your PETA shirt and clean clothes in order to make a good impression on people. Don&#8217;t hide your face at the demo\u2014keep those sunglasses off!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. During the demo<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image  size-large\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/During.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/During.gif\" alt=\"During the Demo\"\/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Make sure that everyone is holding their signs so they can be read easily (and aren&#8217;t hiding their faces) and ask people to refrain from talking on the phone or texting. Have the majority of the people holding signs and waving at cars but have a select group handing out leaflets to people who are passing by.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Keep Your Cool<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image  size-large\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Police.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Police.gif\" alt=\"Dealing with Police\"\/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Remember to smile and be polite. You&#8217;ll change more people&#8217;s minds by being respectful and having engaged conversations, as opposed to yelling at them or intimidating them. If the police do arrive, calmly tell them that you already have your permit (or that you were told you didn&#8217;t need one when you called earlier).<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. After the demo<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image  size-large\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/After.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/After.gif\" alt=\"After the Demo\"\/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Remember to collect all your materials so that there isn&#8217;t any litter and get everyone&#8217;s contact information (to send them pictures from the demo later and to let them know about future events)\u2014then thank everyone for attending your demonstration!<\/p>\n<p>Now wasn&#8217;t that simple?!
