Picture it: Autumn equinox, 2025. You\u2019re ordering matching sweaters for Chico, your new Chihuahua BFF, and yourself. Life is gourd<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you call a bear in the autumn rain? \u2026<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 A drizzly bear.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

But life for Chico wasn\u2019t always soup<\/em>er. When fieldworkers encountered the tan Chi, he was tied to a trampoline with barely 2 feet of tangled tether to move, half-starved, and without water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When PETA fieldworkers first stumbled upon this scene, it was no more Mr. Spice<\/em> Guy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Initially, Chico\u2019s crabapple owner refused to allow PETA to take custody of the emaciated dog. In a county lacking helpful ordinances and where animal control is slow to respond on the best of days, fieldworkers got real serious real quick about Chico\u2019s seriously neglectful predicament: There was no world in which PETA would leaf<\/em> this \ud83d\udc47 little guy hanging!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite Chico\u2019s unapple<\/em>ealing initial circumstances, he\u2019s always looked on the brighter cider of life.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully, Chico\u2019s owner finally agreed to let PETA find a truly loving, safe home for the deserving dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chico\u2019s foster guardian plaid <\/em>him at \u201chello\u201d!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In foster care, Chico was quick to turn over a new leaf. (Isn\u2019t it amaize<\/em>ing what proper food and love will do?) His foster guardian reports that the demure dude is \u201cthe best kind of friend\u201d and \u201cfull of heart.\u201d He loves treats, especially the pumpkin variety. (How fitting.) Chico wasted no time in becoming his foster guardian\u2019s shadow, and PETA believes the Chihuahua would be gratefall<\/em> for a confident canine sibling who could teach him the ropes. He’s already made fast friends with his foster feline companions! Chico is roughly 3 years old and 8 pounds, and he will be neutered and fully vaccinated before adoption. PETA fieldworkers will transport the gourd<\/em>geous guy to his new home via autumn<\/em>mobile, so any and all East Coast applicants are welcome to shoot their shot!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
