Do NOT do this to your pets please\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8cZJOfkJL2\">pic.twitter.com\/8cZJOfkJL2<\/a><\/p>&mdash; FHP Tampa (@FHPTampa) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FHPTampa\/status\/1844036069219574083?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 9, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When the dog growled in fear, the officer attempted to comfort the animal, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s OK, buddy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The troopers were able to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FLHSMV\/status\/1844085214131155027\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">get him to a veterinarian<\/a>, who gave him a clean bill of health before he was transferred to the Leon County Humane Society. Animal companions depend on humans to keep them safe, yet many are forced to fend for themselves during natural disasters. Those who are tethered outside will swim to exhaustion and drown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PETA\u2019s Animal Rescue Team has found dogs up to their necks in water, in almost-submerged crates inside houses, and even flung around by high winds.
